Tech:A50 Wireless Networks

Technology Services is in the process of installing a new wireless system that is capable of providing multiple levels of security. These different levels show up as different network names.

Contents

ACSD50

The ACSD50 network is a very secure and encrypted network utilized by district managed devices. Only devices managed by Technology Services can connect to this network, and they should connect automatically when a signal is available.

A50GUEST

The A50GUEST network is intended for use with non-district devices. This can include personal laptops, mobile devices, etc.

The guest wireless network allows access to the Internet through the district filter, and access to certain district provided websites, such as visions.adams50.org, mail.adams50.org, etc. Because machines that have no anti-virus software can connect to this network, there is no access to internal district resources, such as H:,N:,T: drives and printers.

For more information about connecting a device to the guest wireless network, please see Guest Wireless Network

A50VoIP

The A50VoIP wireless network is used for connecting Cisco wireless phones to the district phone network.

A50MOBILE

A50MOBILE is a wireless network that is used for mobile devices to connect to the PbyP website. It also allows T-Mobile phones access to a technology known as UMA that allows cell phone calls to be made from our wireless network where cellular signal is poor. Only certain T-Mobile phones support this feature currently. Please contact Technology Services for further information.
